The Imperial Sovereign Queen City Court of the Buckeye Empire Inc., All of Ohio, was actually born out of gay bowling leagues, which were prevalent throughout the Midwest during the early and mid-1980's. Cincinnati's yearly bowling tournament, CIN-TIT, was and still is one of many gay bowling leagues across the continent. While attending a bowling tournament in Toronto, Miss Buffy, Lydia Grant and Tom Wherry met Empress 1 Lauren Michaels of Toronto's Court. In 1988, Lauren visited Cincinnati and performed at the Pipeline. She named Miss Buffy as Imperial Crown Princess, Cincinnati to Toronto.
In November 1989, Miss Buffy, Lydia Grant, Angela St. James and Kate Central Parkway travelled to Toronto to witness Coronation III. It was while attending this coronation that our ladies asked several of the Toronto monarchs how to start a court in Cincinnati. This is the beginning of the Cincinnati Court. Empress III Dawn Valley Parkway of Toronto stated that since Miss Buffy had been given the title of Imperial Crown Princess, she could be appointed Empress of Cincinnati. Emperor I Sergio of Toronto named Miss Buffy as Empress of Cincinnati and administered the Oath of Office. Miss Buffy would be known as Her Most Imperial Majesty , Imperial Crown Princess Cincinnati to Toronto for Empress I Lauren Michaels, The Flamingo Empress, Empress I-Appointed, Miss Buffy.
Regular meetings were held and membership grew. In February 1990, Investitures was held with Angela St. James named as Imperial Crown Princess and Tom Wherry as Imperial Crown Prince. After investitures, fundraising activities and member recruit began.
The first voting of Emperor and Empress was held in July of 1991.
